Scottie Lewis & Bryan Antoine: Dynamic Duo

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few years you know the names Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine. The class of 2019 dynamic duo out of the Ranney School in Tinton Falls, New Jersey have been terrorizing their opponents in a major way. It’s rare that you find two high school players with such high Basketball IQ and passion for the game, playing on the same team. These two guys have been model student athletes and have been doing great things both on the court and in the community. They have been playing together for years and just have a chemistry on the court unlike any high school duo I have ever seen.

Not too long ago Scottie Lewis, with help from Bryan Antoine, put together an all-star charity event at their school. Proceeds benefited Lunch Break, a Red Bank-based nonprofit that provides food, clothing and fellowship to those in need. How many high school athletes you know doing that? These guys are cut from a different cloth both on the court and off. Lewis and Antoine march to the beat of their own drum. Instead of going to a basketball factory type of school, they chose The Ranney School, and built their program from the ground up.

Lewis and Antoine met in Middle School and have been inseparable ever since. It’s a different kind of relationship because these guys play together year round. They have built more of a family atmosphere with their teammates. Ranney during the school year and Under Armour-affiliate AAU Team Rio during the summer. These guys have gone beyond the typical teammate relationship and created something very special.

Scottie Lewis is a 6’5 185 pound combo guard who can fly at a moments notice. He has great instincts for the game and is an all around leader on the court. He is most known for his acrobatic dunks but can shoot and pass just as well. His length makes him a problem for his opponents on the defensive end but his leadership seems to be his best attribute.  He wants to be great and works extremely hard to meet his goals.   Any school he chooses to go to is in for a treat.

Bryan Antoine has a similar skill set to his Ranney counterpart. He is 6’4 175 pound freak of nature type player who’s upside is through the roof. He is a very smart player who uses his athleticism to punish opposing players. At 6’4 he is a bit undersized for any position other than point guard at the next level but has added a point guard repertoire to his arsenal. He has also been in the gym working on his midrange and 3 point shot. He’s going to be dangerous and is definitely going to be fun to watch at the next level.

The next step for the duo is choosing colleges to attend. Offers have poured in from schools all over the country. When asked if the two would attempt to go to college as a package deal Lewis replied “It’s a possibility, we have gotten some offers from a few of the same schools, but right now we’re narrowing down our lists independently”. Not too long ago the duo was said to have been offered scholarships from the University of Kentucky, when John Calapari himself visited them at their school. Kentucky is a national powerhouse known for attracting top tier players. Duke was another storied program to offer scholarships to the duo. It’s not everyday that you have two guys from the same school getting package deal offers. In addition to Duke and Kentucky, most of the high major division I programs in the country are trying to get in on the Lewis/Antoine sweepstakes.
